Research Assistant / Project Geologist
Responsible for a detailed structural and geochronological analysis of a portion of the Superior Boundary Zone
in northern Manitoba. The summers of 2003 and 2004 were spent at the joint Manitoba Hydro / Manitoba
Geological Survey Gull Rapids camp in northern Manitoba, where geological mapping and extensive sample
and structural data collection took place. The work was in conjunction with the Manitoba Geological Survey
and the University of Alberta. Currently I am working on a paper based on my thesis work for journal publication.

Drill Geologist
Employed by Ironbark International on a contract with Aquiline Resources. I was a drill/junior
geologist for Aquiline's 2002 River Valley drill program. My duties included geological mapping,
drill set-up and preparation, drill core logging (roughly 2000 metres), and report writing.

Senior Assistant 1 (S1)
I worked with the survey as a senior assistant with a crew working on a geological compilation map of Deloro Township,
just south of Timmins, Ontario, in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt. My duties included help in planning traverses, finding and
mapping rock outcrops, air photo interpretation, using compass, GPS, and ATVs for mapping purposes, making
geological decisions (i.e. lithology, structure), digitizing outcrops onto Autocad, entering data into Autocad and Fieldlog,
and compiling assessment files from the Resident Geologists Office in South Porcupine, Ontario.

Geological Research and Field Assistant
I worked with Dr. Fried Schwerdtner and his graduate students John Burke and Sharyn Alexander as a research and field
assistant during a project on the structural geology of the Mazinaw Domain, Central Metasedimentary Belt, Grenville Province.
Field assistantship was done during the 2001 field season. I also began work on my own 4th year undergraduate thesis
project during that time period.

Geological Research Assistant
I worked on a Western Superior Transect LITHOPROBE project with Dr. Fried Schwerdtner, Dr. P.Y.F. Robin, and
Seema Ahmad, all of the Department of Geology, as a research assistant. The project involved the structural analysis of
pegmatite-aplite dike sets of the southern central Wabigoon Subprovince, Western Superior Province, Ontario. My duty
was to computer process field data from the 1999 and 2000 field seasons using structural geology software, Microsoft Excel,
Microsoft Word, Autocad, and
FieldLog.

Junior Assistant 1 (J1)
I worked with the survey as a junior assistant in a field camp near Timmins, Ontario, in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt.
The project was to produce a geological compilation map of the Ogden and Bristol townships, which are townships
just west of the city of Timmins. My duties included traversing in the bush using compass and GPS, locating rock
outcrops, taking samples, taking field notes and photos, air photo interpretation, organizing samples at the end of the
day, compiling assessment files from the Resident Geologists Office in South Porcupine, Ontario, and working with
AutoCad and FieldLog on the computer, inputting information gathered during the day in the field and digitizing
outcrops from airphotos to maps. Other duties included basic field camp necessities, such as cooking and cleaning.
